At evolve media we have been inspired by our partnership with LeAnn Stephenson and The Vintage Laundry.

If you have been following our blog you know about our partnership with LeAnn, and if you haven't been following, now is a great time to start! LeAnn has been helping evolve with our interior design branding while we have helped her to re-brand her existing e-commerce website. While getting to know her and her brand we have become motivated to make the trek to Texas AntiqueWeekend.

According to their site, "AntiqueWeekend is a HUGE antique, craft, art and collectible gathering that attracts thousands of dealers from across the country where they are joined by tens of thousands of buyers in the middle of Texas." The "middle of Texas" consists of about a half dozen small communities between Austin and Houston like Round Top and Warrenton.

We think the vendors that will be here are perfect potential clients for us. Vintage and antiques are all about taking something from the past and re-working it to fit today's needs. These sellers, vendors, and dealers all value and celebrate heritage, but they're not afraid to evolve into the future.

Antique Weekend is a great opportunity for vendors to showcase and sell their products at shows like the Marburger Farm Antique Show, Big Red Barn, La Bahia Antique Show, and Texas Rose Antique Show (where our favorite, The Vintage Laundry, will be selling). But what about those antique enthusiasts that can't make it to Texas?

This is where it is crucial for these businesses to have a virtual storefront. According to Statista, in 2012 U.S. e-commerce sales amounted to 289 billion dollars, up from 256 billion dollars in 2011. The largest share of online revenue was generated by retail shopping websites which earned 186.2 billion dollars in 2012. If these dealers were to sell online in addition to at these shows, we believe their profits would grow exponentially.

So off we go… the fall "weekend" runs from Saturday, September 21, through Sunday, October 6. Stay tuned to see how our trip turns out!
