The time has come for the crew of More Hands On Deck to set sail from the harbor in Ventura, CA, on Thursday, October 31. If you remember from our earlier blog, they are a group of friends who are going to travel the world by sailboat, a 31 foot Columbia to be exact.

They plan to connect with other cultures and nature and promote sailing as a viable means of travel. Their goal is to inspire people, especially the technology dependent youth, to get outside and experience life as it exists in nature. Throughout their journey, they hope to spread an awareness of the beauty of the earth and the life that exists within, and they hope to instill a reverence of environmentalism in their followers and viewers. They will be documenting the entire voyage through photography, writing, and film, producing a constant stream of short films and ending the epic voyage with a full blown documentary.

Watch their first short film here to learn more about the crew and find out more behind their wanderlust adventure:

This group of musicians, photographers, surfers, and artists are doing what most people would never even consider. But their motto is: Life is just too short not to quit your job, sell everything you own, and take off on an epic journey.

This is a pretty inspiring group of people, and the outpouring of support has been amazing so far. As you can imagine, they will need backing and funding to help them continue to sail around the world and create an amazing documentary of their voyage.

They will be launching a kickstarter campaign when they reach Cabo San Lucas to help them to get the funds they need to make this dream a reality. Please help us to spread the word about these inspiring people and their mission by following them on social media channels and helping get the word out about their story.
