The newly extended 2-weekend Austin City Limits Festival has meant more music for fans, more money for local Austin businesses, and unfortunately for some locals, more festival fatigue. Fortunately for Austinites, this great city does have something to offer this weekend other than the festival.
Mueller Movies in your Park: The Lorax
When: Friday, October 11 at 6:30 pm

This Dr. Seuss classic featuring a creature that talks to the trees is perfect for watching in the park on a fall night. There will be activities and giveaways for kids, food trucks (you can still bring your own snacks), and the movie starts at sunset. Admission is free.

If you've never been to an Alamo sing-along, you are missing out. The theater is transformed into a club, and in a setting where you must usually stay seated and quiet, you can let loose and dance like a crazy person complete with props and rad 80′s music videos playing on the big screen. Tickets are $12.

Catch this show it's last weekend in Austin. From South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, this musical was the winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical. Tickets range from $39-$154.
Ditch the Fest @ The Historic Scoot Inn

The ultimate anti-fest festival is back this weekend with a plethora of homegrown music (approximately 20 local and regional bands) and art installations. Tickets are only $5.00, and all ages are welcome.
